How to set up Carousel Banners
What is a Carousel?
A carousel is an ad format that automatically rotates multiple ads at regular intervals on your app or website. Think of it like a "rolling banner" that cycles through different campaigns. The carousel option only applies when multiple campaigns are running in the same ad slot (not just multiple creatives in one campaign). If there are several creatives within a single campaign, they’ll be shown randomly at equal frequency.
Why Random Rotation Matters:
If ads were shown in a fixed order, the first ad would get most of the attention. To avoid this bias, carousel banners rotate ads randomly, giving each campaign a fair chance to be seen.
If you're using the carousel option, there are a few settings you can customize:
Indicator
This shows users where they are in the ad rotation—for example, "1/3" if they’re viewing the first out of three ads. The number indicator appears in the bottom-right corner of the banner. It's helpful for letting users know there’s more to swipe through.
Rolling Time
This is how often the carousel switches to the next ad. Typically, each ad stays on screen for 3–4 seconds.
When creating a new ad unit, you can easily set this up by:
Turning Carousel ON
Choosing whether to show the indicator (e.g. “1/3”)
Setting the rolling time for each ad
How to Use Carousel Banners
When multiple campaigns are running: Carousel will be activated. Ads from each campaign will roll and switch automatically. Example: If both Campaign A and Campaign B are live, the banner will rotate between A and B.
When a single campaign has multiple creatives: The carousel won’t be activated. Instead, the creatives will be shown randomly in the same slot. Example: If Campaign A has two creatives, “Creative A” and “Creative B,” they’ll be shown at random in the same banner space.
