Understanding Targeting and Categories

Categories are detailed options within targeting settings.

  • Let’s take a closer look at the filters used to set these categories.

Integer Property Options

  • Operators are provided to compare the numeric value you enter with other numbers.

String Property Options

These options let you filter data based on text values. You can set conditions like:

  • Exact match: Matches exactly with the word entered in the field.

  • Contains: Matches if the value contains the word entered.

  • Starts with: Matches if the value begins with the word entered.

  • Ends with: Matches if the value ends with the word entered.

  • Matches any of: Enter multiple words separated by commas. If any of them match the value, the condition is met

Example: If the category is Seoul Hospital, list all hospital names located in Seoul in the input field (separated by commas). If even one of those names matches a collected property value, it will be included in the Seoul hospital targeting group.

You can create up to 120 targeting categories in total.

Targeting & Category Conditions

(For Advertisers on the Ad Platform)

  • As shown in the left image, different targeting types (e.g., gender + region) use an AND condition.

→ Users must match all conditions to be included.

Example: If you target all genders, a specific metro area, and Seoul, only users who match every one of those conditions will be counted. If there is no overlap, the audience size will be 0.

  • As shown in the right image, categories within a single targeting filter use an OR condition.

If you select both Busan and Daegu as categories, users from either city will be included in the audience.
